Into the last week now and looking forward to getting home. I had a great weekend at home and coped with the journey fine and managed to walk quite a distance round a shopping centre on Saturday. The fact that I even wanted to attempt this was amazing.
I had some pain this morning but it was relieved with gtn spray. I was very tired and a bit breathless making my way to the Hospital but the great news is by lunch time I felt fine. Before EECP I would have felt bad for days and would have been back in bed very quickly. This was the first pain I have had in about a week and a 1/2 so I am not to worried.

This is a great commentary on EECP treatment, its ups and downs. With luck the healing processes that EECP induces, goes on well after the sessions themselves are completed. I think there is a virtuous circle that opens up - with less angina there is more opportunity to exercise. The improved blood flow from the exercise keeps the healing process on a positive trajectory.
ReplyDeleteI know that microvascular angina is different to 'ordinary' heart disease and angina and one has to hope that more of the microcapillaries in the heart muscle are induced back into operation, increasing the oxygenation and, hopefully, the efficiency of the pumping action.
Keep it up John - and again best of luck!
Best wishes
